JUST READ: Eat This Poem

I’ve just finished reading Nicole Gulotta’s latest book called Eat This Poemand my was it lovely. This is a short read (just shy of 200 pages) filled with poems by the likes of Mary Oliver and Peter Pereira, plus Gulotta’s own stories and recipes, all of which are stitched together in delightful prose. I love how she explains food and poetry as kindred spirits, where food fills the stomach and poetry fills the soul. I couldn’t agree more.

Aging Flowers

Those who know me well know that I am somewhat of a “flower child” at heart. I love having fresh flowers around the house. Throughout my college days, and later, as I moved between different apartments and cities, buying flowers became a weekly indulgence. Whether it’s fragrant rosemary clippings from the backyard, wild blooms from the market, or a fresh-cut pick-up from the grocery store, putting flora & fauna around the house is an instant mood lifter for me.
